Lubomirska Marianna née Bieliński, 1v Denhoff, called. La Belle
Marianna née Bieliński, primo voto Denhoffowa, secundo voto Lubomirska
Parents: Ludwika Maria nee Morsztyn and Kazimierz Ludwik Bieliński (d. 1713),
Husband: (from 1703) Bogusław Ernest Denhoff; 2nd husband (from 1719r) Jerzy Ignacy Lubomirski
Marianna née Bieliński, primo voto Denhoffowa, secundo voto Lubomirska grew up at the Bieliński manor. In 1703 she married Bogusław Ernest Denhoff, the Chamberlain of Lithuania. Stanisław Leszczyński fell in love with her in 1708, which unnerved his supporters. The relationship was mainly opposed by Leszczyński’s mother – Anna – and Jan Stanisław Jabłonowski – his uncle. They feared losing their influence on Stanisław to the very intelligent Ludwika Maria Bielińska. In 1712, however, Marianna was presented to Augustus II, in order to get rid of Anna, Countess Cosel. Her mother Ludwika played a particular role in this matter. In fact, Augustus II’s dalliance with Marianna had nothing to do with Countess Cosel. It was a highly political affair, serving to establish rapprochement with France, which probably involved her brother-in-law, Jean Victor de Besenval. Marianna’s sister, Katarzyna did in fact marry Jean Victor de Besenval. Contact with her and Besenval enabled Marianna to establish relations with Louis XIV’s diplomatic core. Saxon diplomats (Wackerbath) promised her lands in the Czech Republic and the title of Duchess, but with the decreasing chances of rapprochement with France, Marianna lost her importance. She had many children: with Denhoff – Katarzyna and Zofia; with Lubomirski – Teodor Hieronim (died 1761) and Maria Anna (later married Adam Jordan, the castellan of Wojnicz). In March 1730 she and her husband were going to go to Saxony together, but she gave birth to a son and died within two-weeks of postpartum complications.
The Court
After divorcing Denhoff, Marianna married Jerzy Ignacy Lubomirski on January 6, 1719 in Dresden. As a wedding gift, she received from the king a palace worth 50 thousand Polish złoty. After the wedding, the spouses settled in Rzeszów, where they maintained a large court. This is evidenced by the property accounts kept in the State Archives in Rzeszów, in the Lubomirski Archive collection. Marianna died in their estate in Rzeszów on April 20, 1730.
