Mniszech Konstancja Ludwika, née Tarło and Józef Wandalin Mniszech were considered to be an extremely agreeable and loving marriage, cooperating with each other in all matters. Konstancja was seen as a schemer with broad influence at the Dresden court, where she had spent many years. The office of Grand Marshal of the Crown held by her husband as well as his personality brought him many supporters and the trust of King Augustus II, which allowed him to take up a strong position in the King’s entourage. The spouses maintained close contacts with the Sieniawski, Szembek, Radziwiłł, and Branicki families. Both Jan Klemens Branicki and his wife wrote cordial letters to Marshal Józef Wandalin and Konstancja.  Moreover, the sister of Jan Klemens – Elżbieta Branicka (died 1746) – became the third wife of Jan Trało, Konstancja’s brother. The Mniszech family’s position was so significant that Józef Wandalin was put forward in 1733 as a candidate for the Polish throne.

The Court:

When in the country, they most often stayed in their family residence in Laszki Murowane. Mniszech also bought a palace at Senatorska Street in Warsaw and had it renovated to stay close to the royal court. However, the residence Konstancja and Józef Wandalin liked most was the palace in Dęblin, which they had been decorating together since 1726
